The "Around the City Update" column in the October-November issue of Happenings noted that the St. Johns/City of Mount Dora irrigation schedule will change to one day a week starting November 1, when Daylight Savings Time ends. However, the authorized watering days were listed incorrectly, since a variance was issued for CCMD that spreads out the watering days.
The correct information is as follows, Address ending in Authorized Watering Day:
Common areas can be watered only on Monday.
Residents should water only when needed, and not between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Watering is not permitted for more than one hour per zone.
Watering two days a week will be permitted when Daylight Savings Time returns.
For residents in Uniform Yard Maintenance Neighborhoods: Girard will conduct wet checks on irrigation systems during the last week of October and will adjust the irrigation systems to conform to the above schedule. For homeowners with new sod, Girard will adjust the irrigation systems (Program B) to water more frequently for only the zones with new sod until it is rooted (a maximum of 30 days).
