St. Johns River WMD Approves Irrigation Variance for CCMD
Effective 4/7/09, the St. Johns River Water Management District has approved the City of Mount Dora’s irrigation schedule variance for the Country Club of Mount Dora. The following variance for CCMD has been posted on the City’s website and is effective for Daylight Savings Time. Watering schedules are according to street addresses:
Addresses ending in the following street addresses may water:
0, 1, 2, or 3 - Tuesday and Friday
4, 5, or 6 - Wednesday and Saturday
7, 8, or 9 - Thursday and Sunday
Irrigation is permitted for no more than one hour per zone. Irrigation is not permitted between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Councilman Thielhelm advises there are penalties if one is caught watering outside the scheduled days/times. Three warnings will be issued before the fines start at $50, going up to $1,000 if caught by the City. St. Johns has a similar fine schedule, but it tops out at $500.00.
The schedule for one-day-a-week watering during Eastern Standard Time will be posted at a later date.
